So there’s a fancy dress party on the horizon… and there’s a bunch of you going… What to do? What to do?! If there's only 2 of you going... please politely move on! We have a different section with different ideas for couples - that's your best bet! If your possé numbers exceed 2 then keep reading... this stuff's for you!
You can leave your friends in a fancy dress cloud of dust and choose to fly solo with your outfit or….. get it together so you can bask in the glory of awesome Group Costumes!
Coming up with group costumes may sound tricky, but it’s not! There’s a whole lot of different fancy dress looks you can combine and mesh your gang into a dress up bomb!
The most obvious group costumes will come straight out of your tv screens in the form of movie characters. These themes include The Addams Family, The Simpsons, The Flintstones, The Brady Bunch, Star Wars and Star Trek characters, The Munsters, The Muppets, The Wizard of Oz or Batman characters plus stacks more!
Selecting awesome group costumes based on tv shows and movies will give you tons of leverage with the amount of people you’re dressing up! If there’s only 3 of you – go as a group of Muppets or Looney Tunes characters. If you’ve got a group of 9 – Brady Bunch costumes will do the trick (including Alice!)
Use your imagination when it comes to group costumes too – not each person has to dress totally different! You and your mates can all dress up as gangsters and go to your fancy dress party as a ‘Mob’. Or bring about one of the most talked about apocalypses when you rock up as a terrifying swarm of zombies. Of course we can’t forget the best ‘go-to’ group costumes idea which tends to surface at Australian cricket matches – Where’s Wally!
Group costumes for the ladies may include all dressing up as a different Disney Princess or sexy showgirls. Group costumes for a bunch of guys can include each wearing a different superhero costume to become a collective force to be reckoned with, or a line-up of ball and chain dragging, melancholy convicts!
Group costumes are a fantastic ice-breaker at any fancy dress party and will get you into character super fast when you have the antics of your mates to contend with!
