Everyone’s Favourite Fairytale Characters in One Place..

We’re going to take a look at some of the incredible characters that have graced the pages of your favourite books throughout the years… But first, let's check out the 2023 Book Week theme..

Read, Grow, Inspire

This theme leaves a lot to the imagination, but essentially, we think it reflects on the books that you read, books that inspire you and help you to grow and shape you into the person you’ll become.

With that in mind, let’s have a look at the classic fairytale characters for men, women, boys and girls that inspired us throughout time!

Men's Fairytale Costumes

Some of our favourite stories have the best men’s fairytale characters in them, we have stories like Alice in Wonderland that brought us The Mad Hatter, March Hare and Tweedle-dee and Tweedledum! Or The Wizard of Oz, that has the Wicked Witch's, Winged Monkeys! Robin Hood, The Big Bad Wolf and of course Roald Dahl’s, Fantastic Mr Fox and Willy Wonka!

Women's Fairytale Costumes

Fairytale options for women? We have plenty! Glinda the good witch from the land of OZ, Alice in Wonderland, The Queen of Hearts and even Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’s, chocolate extraordinaire.. Willy Wonka! And of course we can’t forget the Disney Princesses, Cinderella and Princess Aurora from Sleeping Beauty.

Boys Fairytale Costumes

Now we know Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a fan favourite, but have you ever thought of dressing up as Augustus Gloop? Or if they aren’t your style, maybe you might want to steal from the rich and give to the poor dressed as Robin Hood! Or go on a trip down the yellow brick road to visit the Wizard of Oz and dress up as the Scarecrow! You could also attend a tea party with Alice dressed as the Mad Hatter!

Girls Fairytale Costumes

The category is full of Disney characters like Elsa from Frozen and Tinkerbell from Peter Pan! It’s not just limited to Disney though, there are some fantastic classic fairytale characters for book week that everyone loves! Alice in Wonderland, Red Riding Hood and even Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz!
